BOSS TALK with Hot New Hip-Hop & Rick Ross

Atlanta, Georgia 2022

Despite decades of freedom under the law, Black people everywhere are still uncovering what self-determined freedom looks like. Rick Ross celebrating his transition into artistic independence is itself a declaration of freedom, but his bold acquisition of 235 acres of land is even more symbolic. “300 Acres & a Bull” references the infamous 40 acres and a mule that freed Africans were promised but never received. These assets could have changed the course of how Black wealth has accumulated across time, and without them, it is even more critical to wrap our arms around success stories like the one Rick Ross is building for himself. A black man, with land, a cow, a tractor, all of the cars he had dreamed of— Ross is “RICHER THAN HE’S EVER BEEN”, and as a result, we all get to witness his process of defining and achieving true freedom for himself. The freedom that history didn’t write, Ross did!
